Wildcats snap up Tony

Wakefield have secured the signing of former New Zealand international Motu Tony for the 2011 season.

The 29-year-old has been based in England for six years and was a part of Hull FC’s 2005 Challenge Cup-winning side under current Wildcats coach John Kear.

Tony had previously enjoyed spells at NRL sides New Zealand Warriors and Brisbane Broncos and Kear is delighted to gain the services of the utility back.

“We are thrilled to have secured the signature of Motu Tony. His versatility and experience will add great depth to our squad,” he said.

Tony added: “I am very grateful for the opportunity I’ve been given to prove myself again.”
