HSV’s Marcell Jansen plays down Milan link
Hamburg left back Marcell Jansen is ignoring reports linking him with Serie A giants Milan as he pledges allegiance to his club.
Itasportpress.it claims the 25-year-old German is a hot favourite for the Rossoneri, who have regularly been linked with moves for quality wing-backs of late.
But Jansen, whose deal at HSV expires in 2013, is expecting to remain where he is.
“I am not thinking of leaving the HSV. I’ve got another two years on my contract,” he told Bild.de.
“Plenty will happen here next season and I want to be part of it, especially with the arrival of Frank Arnesen.”
Jansen was recently dropped by coach Michael Oenning, but he is ready to fight for his place.
“I will try to impose myself in training, even though I know that the coach had no reason for change for the Koeln game,” he added.
Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has reportedly identified left back as one of the positions his side are most in need of strengthening.
