Spain to play Venezuela in summer friendly

European and World champions Spain will play a friendly against Venezuela on June 1, the Spanish FA (RFEF) has confirmed.

Vicente del Bosque’s men will travel to South America prior to their trip to Boston on June 4 to face the United States in another international.

A statement on the RFEF’s official website reads:

“The senior national team will play a friendly match in Venezuela, against the selection of this country on June 1 at a venue to be determined. In the coming days, the Venezuelan Federation will confirm the stadium where the match will be played.”

Venezuela are currently 67th in the FIFA world rankings, while Spain retain their spot at No. 1.
